The month of October was American Pharmacists Month sponsored by APhA and October 16-22 was National Hospital and Health-System Pharmacy Week sponsored by ASHP. These celebrations were created to acknowledge the invaluable contributions that pharmacists and technicians make in the lives of our patients. Did you or your Chapter participate in either event? How do you celebrate the Profession of Pharmacy? What are some every day things you do that help patients realize the valuable contribution pharmacists can make in their lives?

Executive Committee Meeting
I spent this entire past weekend getting to know our new Executive Committee a bit better.
We held a retreat here at the Central Office in Dallas to discuss many pressing matters before the Executive Committee.
I had the members come to my house Friday evening for dinner in an effort to get to know them better in a more relaxed and casual setting. You would be surprised how much easier it is to get to know someone away from "work".
No new surprises, just a better appreciation of how hard they all work and their level of commitment to Kappa Psi. They all are dedicated to the betterment of our brotherhood and to the long term success of Kappa Psi. They made hard decisions by keeping the vision of a better Kappa Psi in the fore front.
Cooperation and compromise were the words that come to mind when I looked back at the proceedings. It was a long and stressful day but when it was over, all agreed that we have made a better Kappa Psi for now and the future.
In a few weeks you will see the fruits of their labors begin to be revealed and I am sure once you have seen the results you will agree with me that the fraternity is headed for greater things. I was proud of them and I think each of you should be proud of them also.
So if you get a minute send them an email and thank them for the good work they do for Kappa Psi.

Kappa Psi Through and Through
Hi everyone. The last province meetings of this year will be over soon, and I hope that everyone that has been able to attend these meetings over the last year have found them enjoyable, with new bonds created, old bonds maintained, and their horizons expanded. I would encourage as many of you as possible to try to participate in events that are outside of your chapters and provinces. I believe that when you do, you truly see that Kappa Psi is all over the place. Many chapters are now in the middle of pledging or are about to finish. I hope that those you initiate will be a boon to your chapter, and will worthy of being our Brothers for life.
The Collegiate Development Committee is currently working on an Officer Training Guide that will hopefully help in building strong leadership in the chapters. Soon after we also hope to put out a document that will allow chapters to review ideas for which they can raise funds for their chapters. I also know the Pledge Development Committee is hard at work trying to determine what key aspects are most important in the pledging process. That's all for now. I wish you all well and the best in your endeavors.
Respectfully submitted,
Johnny Wong

Graduate Relations
My brothers,
I am still emotionally charged from the wonderful time we all had in San Francisco. I had an opportunity to have a mini reunion with some of the Province III brothers during conclave in Chapel Hill, and the willingness to serve is infectious! I am excited about the group of colligiates we have and am looking forward to seeing these brothers as graduate brothers. Thanks for the hospitality Province III. On behalf of the executive committee I'd like to tell you that we are working hard to represent the needs of the fraternity. As I get ready for Province 1, I'd like to let you know that I am available for all of your fraternal needs. Currently, we have 2 groups appointed to serve you- the Graduate Development Committee and the Graduate Chapter Task Force. If you have any thoughts on how to improve graduate brother involvement or any thoughts on the criteria for the incorporation new graduate chapters in the fraternity, please do not hesitate to contact me at hpmarcelin@gmail.com. Before I sign off, I would like to ask you a couple of questions regarding graduate relations. Collegiates- what is the one thing you wish graduate brothers did more of and what things can we do as brothers to ensure that Kappa Psi is not only for college but it is for LIFE? Graduates- what can we do to make sure we are replacing ourselves when we transition from a collegiate brother to a graduate brother and continue to become active as a graduate brother? Let's blog about it. Well, I am off to Boston! I hope all is well and please let me know how I can be of service! Let's keep in touch.

2011 Ritual Survey
The 2011-2013 Ritual Committee is facilitating a Ritual survey at all fall Province Assembly and Conclave meetings. The actual survey is very short to complete and will assess basic Ritual exercise competencies. The committee will also be verifying GCD addresses to ensure that all Collegiate and Graduate Chapters receive the new Graduation exercise. Each Chapter's assistance in filling out the surveys and verifying GCD information is greatly appreciated! We are looking to provide a Ritual workshop at the spring Province meetings with the focus on the new exercise. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to email me at Lradha15@gmail.com. I look forward to seeing many of you at this semester's Province meetings!
